How to Play

A block slides back and forth above your tower. Tap anywhere on the play area, click, or press Space to drop it. Where you tap does not matter โ€” only when. Whatever part of the falling block overlaps the block beneath it becomes the new top of the tower; whatever hangs over the edge is sliced off and tumbles away. Land with no overlap at all and the run is over. Each drop moves the camera up, and the blocks slide faster the taller you build.

A drop that lands within eight pixels of the block below is a Perfect: it keeps its full width, scores two points instead of one, and adds to your combo. Three perfects in a row widen your block by sixteen pixels, up to the original starting width. Any non-perfect drop resets the combo to zero.

A Miss Costs Exactly What You Missed By

The most useful thing to understand about this game is that the penalty is not a fixed amount or a random one. Your new block width is the old width minus your alignment error, pixel for pixel. Miss by five pixels and you lose five pixels of tower. Miss by forty and you lose forty.

This makes the game far less forgiving of a single bad drop than most stacking games feel. Building your block back up requires three consecutive perfects for sixteen pixels โ€” so one careless twenty-pixel miss erases more than a full combo cycle earned. It also means near-misses are genuinely cheap. A drop that is off by ten pixels barely costs anything and should not feel like a failure; the difference between a good run and a bad one is almost entirely about avoiding the large errors, not about maximizing the small ones.

There is a subtlety hiding in this too. Because the trimmed block is centered on the overlap rather than on the screen, your tower drifts sideways over time. Perfect alignment always means alignment with the block directly underneath you โ€” not with the middle of the screen. Players who keep aiming at screen center after the tower has wandered are the ones who suddenly find their blocks shrinking for no obvious reason.

The Perfect Window, Measured in Milliseconds

Eight pixels of tolerance in either direction gives a sixteen-pixel-wide target the block has to be inside when you tap. Because the block is moving, that spatial window is really a time window, and it shrinks as the game speeds up.

At the starting speed, the block crosses those sixteen pixels in roughly a tenth of a second. Every block you place adds a little speed, and by the time the tower has around fifty blocks the movement has reached its maximum โ€” at which point the same window has narrowed to about four hundredths of a second. That is near the limit of what deliberate reaction can hit, which is why past that height perfects start feeling less like timing and more like anticipation.

The speed increase stops there. Once the block is at maximum speed, the game does not get harder in any other way. Everything beyond that point is about how much block width you brought with you, which is why the first fifty drops matter more than they seem to at the time.

Why Your Errors Are Biased, Not Random

Timing mistakes in a game like this are rarely scattered evenly around the target. They cluster late, because the whole chain from seeing the block reach the mark to your finger actually pressing takes time, and any timing based on reaction rather than prediction inherits that delay. On a block moving at full speed, even a small delay translates directly into lost pixels.

The fix is to stop reacting and start predicting. Instead of watching the block and pressing when it looks aligned, watch the target โ€” the center of the block below โ€” and press before the moving block reaches it, by roughly the amount of your own lag. This feels wrong at first, because you are deliberately tapping at something that has not happened yet, and the first few attempts usually land early. That is exactly the signal you want: once you are missing on both sides, your bias is gone and the errors are small.

The block's motion helps you here. It travels at a constant speed and reverses at fixed edges, so its arrival time at any point is completely predictable. Nothing about it is random. You can count the sweep, and many players find that mentally marking the moment the block reverses direction gives a far more stable reference than trying to judge the center directly.

Where to Look

Following the moving block with your eyes is the natural instinct and the wrong one. Tracking a moving object keeps your gaze in motion, which makes judging its position against a stationary landmark harder, and it gives you no advance information โ€” the block's location is not news, since it is completely predictable.

Fixing your eyes on the target instead works better on both counts. Hold your gaze on the center of the block below, let the moving block enter your vision, and tap as it crosses. Because your eyes are still, the crossing registers as a single sharp event rather than something you have to estimate while panning. This is also why the game is more comfortable when you do not track the tower's rise: the camera keeps the top of the stack in roughly the same place on screen, so your gaze can stay parked.

When to Chase Perfects and When to Just Survive

Perfects are worth double points and are the only way to regain lost width, so it is tempting to hunt them constantly. But the combo bonus only pays out on the third consecutive perfect, and any miss resets the count โ€” so chasing perfects from a narrow block is a strategy that usually pays nothing while risking a lot.

Score reflects both survival and precision โ€” one point per drop, two for a perfect โ€” so height alone does not determine your result. A shorter tower built with a high perfect rate can outscore a taller sloppy one, which is worth remembering if you are comparing results with someone else.
